We don't buy to a formula. Sometimes we know exactly what we've found. Other times it's a shape, a label, an unusual detail or simply the way something has been made that catches our attention.
Our stock ranges across 20th century design, from furniture and lighting to objects we simply couldn't leave behind. Some pieces are by recognised designers and makers. Others take a little more work to uncover.

Part of the enjoyment for us is finding out what we've bought.
Labels, stamps, construction, old catalogues and advertisements can all provide clues. Sometimes the research confirms what we suspected. Sometimes it takes us somewhere completely unexpected.
We don't always find the answer, but when we do, we like to share what we've learned.

We want our furniture to be used, not simply admired.
We clean, repair and restore where needed, but don't try to make old furniture look new. Wherever possible, we keep the original finish and character.
Where specialist work is needed, we work with people we trust.
