Stunning Mid Century Beithcraft Teak Sideboard By Val Rossi

SOLD

Description

A very distinctive teak sideboard designed c.1970 by Val Rossi for high-end Scottish cabinet makers Beithcraft bearing the original maker's label.

Flowing organic lines in the sculpted handles and that unmistakable cruciform base on which the cabinet appears to float. Val Rossi also worked for McIntosh before moving west to the smaller firm of Beithcraft to create some of their most iconic furniture. Production volumes were small and construction mostly by hand making what were expensive, premium pieces at the time. With such individual design and exceptional quality of manufacture, it is easy to see how this has become such a sought-after and now rarely-available piece of design.
