Set of 8 Brutalist Danish Rosewood Dining Chairs by Dyrlund, c.1968–74

£1295.00

Description

A substantial set of eight rosewood dining chairs by Dyrlund of Denmark, comprising two carvers and six side chairs.

Made in the late 1960s to early 1970s, the chairs are constructed from solid rosewood with bold sculptural frames, broad arms, and generous proportions - capturing the Brutalist edge of Danish design from this era. Their weight and presence set them apart from the lighter, organic Danish designs of the 1950s and 60s.

Each chair has been professionally reupholstered in ivory boucle, a luxurious and contemporary fabric that contrasts beautifully with the depth of the rosewood grain. All retain their original round gold Dyrlund maker’s disc label, dating the set firmly to the early 1970s.

Complete sets of eight, particularly with armchairs and in rosewood, are increasingly scarce and highly sought after. These chairs offer both style and comfort, making them equally suited to dining, office, or statement seating.

We have a matching double extending Rosewood table by Dyrlund coming soon.
