Kurt Østervig Rosewood Folding Serving Trolley for Jason Møbler, Denmark, 1960s

Description

A beautifully made folding serving trolley by Kurt Østervig, produced by Jason Møbler in Denmark during the 1960s. The top opens out on brass hinges to create a larger serving surface, while the lower tray is fully removable when required. The proportions are balanced and understated, with Østervig’s characteristic soft chamfered edges and rounded leg profiles.

The rosewood has excellent grain movement and depth of tone, showing the natural variation that makes these earlier examples so sought after. The castors roll smoothly and the piece moves easily between rooms, making it as practical as it is elegant.
