Danish Teak Twin Pedestal Desk, Gunnar Nielsen Tibergaard, Denmark, c.1960
Description
A beautifully proportioned Danish teak twin pedestal desk, attributed to Gunnar Nielsen Tibergaard, produced in Denmark circa 1960.
This is a more delicate interpretation of the classic pedestal desk - elegant rather than imposing. The gently overhanging top creates a subtle floating effect above the drawer banks, while slender tapered legs give the piece lift and lightness.
Created in richly grained teak, the desk features six drawers with recessed linear pulls, understated, integrated, and typical of refined Danish modern design. The rear is fully finished, allowing it to sit centrally within a room.
Unlabelled, but the form, proportions and detailing align closely with documented examples attributed to Gunnar Nielsen Tibergaard.
