Adrian Pearsall Model 2450-TK Coffee Table for Craft Associates, USA, c.1970
Description
A superb and highly collectible Model 2450-TK coffee table designed by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates, USA.
One of Pearsall's most sculptural designs, the table features a substantial freeform glass top resting on an architectural solid walnut base. The beautifully engineered frame combines sweeping curves, intersecting supports and organic lines, creating a piece that appears different from every angle.
Produced during the golden age of American Mid-Century Modern design, the 2450-TK perfectly captures Pearsall's ability to blur the line between furniture and sculpture. Viewed through the glass, the walnut base becomes a striking composition of form and shadow, giving the table a presence far beyond its practical function.
This example benefits from exceptional provenance. Purchased new by its original American owners in the early 1970s, it remained within the same family for decades. We were told that the family furnished their home gradually, purchasing pieces room by room as finances allowed, carefully selecting quality furniture that would stand the test of time. That philosophy is reflected in the condition and survival of this remarkable table today.
The original glass was no longer present; however, a new 19mm glass top has been professionally ordered using dimensions supplied from the original Craft Associates template, faithfully recreating the proportions and visual weight intended by Adrian Pearsall.
A rare opportunity to acquire an iconic piece of American modernist design with documented ownership history and outstanding presentation.
